“Learning To Fly In Weakness

“Learning To Fly In Weakness”

February 1st, lets see, Joe has a birthday on the 15th. He will be the same age as as me until October. I am from October to February older than Joe, but a few months out of the year I can say we are the same age. Okay, if you wondering, I was born in 1953, and Joe 1954. So now you know how young I am. Praise God, for every year. Joe and I married on June 18, 1977, so you can say we have gotten used to each other by now.

Ha Ha I was reading back over a devotion that I did in 2002. Since then I have gone through nine surgeries. Praise God, that I am here tonight, getting a chance to do e-mail devotions. Yes, it has been a hard and difficult time, but God has always been there to do His work in me. I have learned to trust in God with even a deeper meaning in my life. I have learn to fly in a different direction and have had a chance to grow in maturity and increase my faith and my abilities.

Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

When the eaglet is allowed to struggle for purpose, He does not struggle just so he will trust the mother. He struggles to learn to fly. God’s allowing us to struggle is for a purpose, as well, to bring about maturity, to enhance our testimony, and to increase our abilities.

Paul said, “For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9,10) (I Corinthians 1: 27-29) says, “God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. God chose the weak things of this world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before Him”

Any time you think life is unfair, look at the cross. It wasn’t fair for the perfect Son of God to be nailed at the age of thirty-three. It wasn’t fair for him to suffer pain, ridicule, guilt, loneliness and death. It seemed on that dark day the world had turned upside down, and God’s people were falling into despair. But three days later, Jesus Christ arose from the grave to live in triumph. He has promised, if we walk in faith, he will do the same for us. That’s the reason we can walk and not faint. That’s the reason we can smile even through tears. We know there will come a day when we shall rise up again with eagles… and fly! So remember, when you are at your lowest, weakest moment, that may be the time God uses you to make the greatest impact.

Like the eagle, when you are falling, this may be when you are about to learn to fly.

Joyfully, In The Master’s Service

“Is God Listening?”

“Is God Listening?”

Prayer is the means by which we take our perplexities to the Father. But do you get the feeling that some people have God’s listening ear better than you do? I love the letter the little boy wrote to God in which he admitted he knew God heard prayers, but he wanted to know when God would be listening especially hard to prayers. In other words he was asking God is there a certain day that you handle prayer for different situations?

I think one of the problems we encounter in praying is that we are inclined to dictate to God what our preferences are. If we have already made up our minds, we may not hear Him when He speak!
As Mark 4: 23 -24 says, “If any man have ears to hear, let him hear…Take heed what ye hear.”
“Listen to what you hear,” He is saying, “You think there is a shortage of my messages, my answers to your prayers? Unplug your ears!”

Perhaps our biggest problem is not that we haven’t and don’t hear; if we will be honest we might have to confess that we aren’t always ready to listen! We may have heard but we just do not want to obey. The think God may have made a mistake. In other words we are saying, “God are you sure?”

Catherine Marshall in her classic Adventures in Prayer speaks of “The Prayer of Relinquishment.” She say, ” A demanding spirit, with self-will as its rudder, blocks prayer….Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, I come to see, is the pattern for us. Christ could have avoided the cross…. Christ used His free will to turn the decision over to His Father. He said, “Dear Father…all things are possible to you. Let me not have to drink this cup! Yet it is not what I want but what you want.’ She emphasizes that there is no resignation in Prayer of Relinquishment. This kind of praying doesn’t slam the door on hope. It’s called “the pliability of an obedient heart.”

Sometimes you as I also maybe faced with the problem, Lord, I just do not know how to pray about this problem.
Praise God, that is not a problem to God. Thanks to the Holy Spirit everybody is equal before God in prayer. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses, in our improper understanding, and conveys from our hearts to God’s heart what is really there, that which is impossible for us to put into words anyway!”

Friends, God knows our needs before we ever bring them to Him. He is just waiting for us to see if we are ready to turn our life situations over to Him completely.

In other words, “Lord, here I am, I am yours, and I am willing to follow your ways for my life.

Sending to You and Your Family,
Blessings, Love and Prayers,

Sudden Quiet

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month

Sudden Quiet

sunrise

Good Morning Everyone!

Have you ever read something and it just seemed routine, and you forgot about it shortly, and then later you read it, and wow, it popped off the page to you, and seemed so meaningful?

I mean we often are so busy, that things just don’t sink in, because our mind are going in so many different directions.

I often think this could be part of the problem not only with our relationships but with our spiritual life. We get wrapped up in everything except something that profits our soul.

Suppose for a minute we could clear our mind of the clutter. Suppose we shut off the problems filling our heads and worrying us, suppose we shut off the thinking about things we need to do, suppose we shut off thinking about others, or how upset we are or what they did, or what they should have done. Suppose we held up a mental stop sign and said Quiet everyone… I’m cleaning house. Sudden quiet.

Now… I can take time to listen for God.
Nothing else.
Just Him.

If we did this each morning, even for a brief time we would see immediate results in the way we deal with life, others, and most certainly it would give God time to impart peace into our spirit. And hope, and inspiration. And.. reassurance.

What if you made this your goal this week? Just a quiet time with God every day. Where you raised a stop sign and quieted everything in the world, but meditation upon God. And listen for that precious still small voice. Oh how we need this my friend.

Think about it, don’t you need refreshing in your spirit? Don’t you need fresh hope? Don’t you need encouragement? Well what are you waiting for? Don’t neglect the One who loves you more than anyone else does, and has the answers to all you need. Take time for God!

Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart Wait, I say, on the Lord! Psalm 27:14

Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage, and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait and hope for and expect the Lord.

But those who wait for the Lord — who expect, look for and hope in Him — shall change and RENEW their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up (close to God) as eagles (mount up to the sun); they shall run and not be weary and walk and not faint or become tired. Isaiah 40:31

Remember your source of strength is Christ, you cannot run the race of life successfully without a close, enduring, daily, ongoing vital relationship with Him.

With our God we shall do valiantly!

Life or Death

Life or Death

Proverbs 6: 2

You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth.

Matthew 12: 35-37

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.

Proverbs 19:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Mark 11:24

Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

John 14:13-14 “And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

We wonder why we live in sickness? Why life seems to be so negative? Why people stop coming around us? Why we seem lonely?

I could go on and on, but I want to say the answer could be our own actions and our mouth.

As Christians we should act as Christians. We should believe the Bible the Word of God. We should believe that what God says, He will do.

But, we are sometimes so negative. We speak negative. We act negative. And we do not stand on God’s promises.

I know that people have gone to the altar for prayer for healing and God healed them, and then they turn around and open their mouth and stop their healing.

Just little things, like, well I prayed but my back still hurts.

How about getting up in the morning and saying out loud, I am healed. My back does not hurt. My head does not hurt. My stomach does not hurt. My finances are wonderful. My car works great. My family is all saved.

Church you are not naming and claiming. You are just believing that God will do what He says He will do.

The disciples asked Jesus, how show we pray? And Jesus answered them with the perfect prayer, the prayer of His heart. The prayer that God is showing us how He wants us to live.

Matthew 6:9-13

9 Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Did you notice verse 10? He wants us to have things on earth as they are in Heaven. But, we have turned our world and our lives upside down.

I found out in my own life that if I keep my mouth shut, I am better off. If I cannot speak positive to my circumstances, I just need not to speak at all.

God hears our prayers. God wants us healed. God wants us happy, but we let satan throw all kind of things at on us. We even are so fast to open our mouths and to give satan a  ideas for him to use against us.

God is the only one who knows our thoughts heart and desires. But, satan cannot read ours minds or hear our thoughts. He only hears what we speak.

So, if we are constantly  speaking negative, well guess what? Yes, negative things come into our lives.

Stop blaming God if your life is going down hill. Oh, I can hear you already, but Pastor Pat, nothing happens to us that God does not allow.

Well, I will ask you this. If you are sick, did God are you not take care of your body? If you are broke and have no money, did God or you spend money on unnecessary things, and not save and put money back in a special fund, so you will have it in hard times? If your family is not saved, what example did you show them with your own life and actions?

And we must remember they as well as us are free agents. We have choices and God will not go against the choices they make or we make. But, He will be there to pick us up if we repeat and come back to Him.

It is time we get back to prayer and bible study. I am not talking about the habit of just doing it, but, really and sincerely seeking God.

When we do our lives and our families lives will turn around.

Just living a regular Christian life is hard

You can always tell when people get serious about situations in their lives. They not only pray but it is time to fast.

I know I have ask for myself, I wonder why bad things happen to good people, and that is just human nature to ask why.
I wonder why my colon had to rupture and because of it, I had to go through two major surgeries this year.  Then because of that, I was out of work several months.  And now that I have gone back to work, my job position was terminated. But see God sees the big picture, where I only see the present.

Just living a regular Christian life is hard, but being in the ministry is double hard.  I know that being in the ministry I have suffer all kinds of things. And I have prayed Lord, why must I suffer these things.  I have also told God that I didn’t particularly care to suffer these things.  And He told me that He didn’t care for me to suffer that stuff either.  Boy, does God’s answers blow your mind.

But God then told me, yes, things should have been different,  people should have  treated you better, but He then said, remember I will hold them accountable for it.  You just preach the Word of God, and I’ll take care of you and I’ll take care of them.

And He will too.  God remembers all the sacrifices you and I have to make for Him in life.  He’s keeping track of the way people treat you and me, and He’s going to reward you and me for bearing it.  The Bible says, ” God keeps every one of your tears in a bottle.” (Psalm 56:8)

So if God can keep track of all our  tears, don’t you think He sees all the little things we do through?  He certainly does, and one day He will reward us openly for our sacrifices.
But as we do go through trials and troubles we need to study God’s word and seek direction.  We need to not only pray, but then we need to tarry at the alter long enough to listen to His answer for us.

And sometimes we even need to fast and pray.  In (Daniel 1:8 and 17) Daniel did a  3 weeks fast. This fast was to show that God would take care of Daniel and his friends and make them healthier, more knowledgeable and skilled in learning, wisdom and understanding of all visions and things.

And in (Daniel 10) Daniel fasted for 3 weeks and God gave him understanding of things to come.
(Daniel 1: 8, 12 and 17) says, “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank, there he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.  Prove they servant, I beseech thee, ten days, and let them give us pulse ( In Hebrew pulse means something sown, vegetable) to eat, and water to drink.   And for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding i all visions and dreams.”
(Daniel 10:2-3) says, “In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.  I ate no pleasant bread, (In Hebrew pleasant was a root, and bread  is grain)neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.”
We know that Jesus fasted 40 days and nights in the wilderness to get ready for His ministry.  And there are times that we need to set our face before God, with our mouths shut, so that we can receive wisdom, knowledge and understanding.  And direction.
So today, if your facing life’s challenges and you feel that you are just holding on.  Grab hold of that Rope tie a knot in the end and just hold on.  Because God is holding on to the other end of the rope and He is not planning to let go.

Do Not Touch My Anointed

God awaken me early this morning.  The story of David and Saul came into my spirit.  As I thought about the story, I realized the seriousness and affect of saying, gossiping, accusing, hoping, and speaking things on and  about the men and women God has called into His service.

Now listen to what I am saying.  We are all human.  We all fell.  We all make mistakes and sometimes even use bad judgment.   But we need to remember that just because a man are woman is a preacher does not mean that they are not going to makes mistakes.  I want you to remember also that in God’s eyes, telling a so call little white lie, is just as and the same as committing murder and stealing.
I believe that before we start making judgments on a person, we need to make sure we know the person.  We need to visit, talk and even take time to pray for the person.

(I Samuel 24:4-) says, “And the men of David said unto him, behold the day of which the Lord said unto thee. Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee.  Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul’s robe privily.  And it came to pass afterward, that David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt. And he said unto his men, The Lord forbid that I should do this thin unto my master, the Lord’s anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord.   So David stayed his servants with these words, and suffered them not to rise against Saul.  But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.  David also arose afterward, and went soul of the cave, and cried after Saul saying, My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.  And David said to Saul, Wherefore hearest thou men’s words, saying, behold David seeketh thy hurt?  Behold, this day thine eyes have seen how that the Lord had delivered thee to day into mine hand in the cave, and some bade me kill thee, but men eye spared thee, and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord, for he is the Lord’s anointed. Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand, for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee, yet you huntest my soul to take it.  The Lord judge between me and thee, and the Lord avenge me of thee, but mine hand shall not be upon thee.”

Now! Did you get that last part?  David said even though you Saul have transgressed against me, I have not sinned against you.  I will let the Lord judge between me and thee.  And the Lord will avenge me of thee. But in no way will I judge you.  No not me.
Listen children of God,  if someone has hurt you, are did someone wrong, let God be the judge.  For when we take judgment on someone, mostly a servant of God, we are putting death in our own hands.  Just pray for the person that you think did something wrong.  For tomorrow we may be the one who slips and falls.  And it may just be that person you have gossiped about that will take your hand and help lift you up.
Remember God says, “you can not come to me for forgiveness, until you first forgive your brother and sister.”  You may say to me, but Pastor Pat, I have not did anything against a person.  So I do not have to ask forgiveness.  Let me tell you, if you have gossiped against that person, you have hurt that person.  So yes, you have sinned against that person. So please do not judge people until you first remember, God loves them and God loves you.  So let God be the judge of us all.

God bless each of you today.  And I pray that each of you set your hearts straight as I also check my heart.

A Merry Heart of Laughter

A MERRY HEART OF LAUGHTER

Written By: Patricia Hunter Aman

As a Merry Heart of Laughter,

Can brighten a cloudy day.

It will fill your soul with springtime,

As radiate as a colorful bouquet.

It lifts our spirits to the sky,

And can mend the wounded heart.

It is just another gift from God,

A special grace that He imparts.

Laughter is good medicine,

That takes away our fears.

And can quickly replace,

A Childs sad face,

And dry up all their tears.

So give a little gift today,

Wrapped up with bows of laughter,

And one day it will be returned to you,

In ways you can’t image.

“The Prayer of Jabez”

Hello and Blessings, Friends and Family,
I pray that you had a Blessed Monday.  I had a wonderful day. I met and had lunch with Rev. Rose Boyd.  Rose is the founder and CEO of Operation Teaching Tools.  This ministry collect teaching supply for Missionaries all over the world and send the materials to them free of charge.

It does cost Operation Teaching to tools to ship the supplies to the Missionaries, thousand of dollars at a time to ship one load.  If the Lord lays on your heart to plant a financial seed in a ministry, this is the one to do it in.  I guarantee that the monies will be used directly for the purpose it is sent too.

You may contact Rose at: rosebudboyd@gmail.com  or  rose@operationteachingtools.org.  Her phone number Benson, North Carolina is (910) 890-7577 or Dunn, North Carolina (910) 892-6598.  I promise you that God will Bless you for supporting this ministry.  You may also reach Rose by getting in touch with myself.

(I Chronicles 4: 9-10) “And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, Oh that thous wouldest bless me indeed. and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me. And God granted him that which he requested.”

I have been reading the book “The Prayer of Jabez” Written By: Bruce Wilkinson. I recommend this book to everyone I see. The book is only 92 pages long, but it is a book that will change you way of praying. I will give you a little history then explain what Mr. Wilkinson says about Jabez.

I Chronicles 4 start out with the Descendants of Judah; then when it gets to Jabez, it stops and the two verses above are quoted.  Jabez had to be a man after God’s on heart.  This is the only place in the Bible that Jabez is mention.  So this prayer that Jabez said touch heaven. Clearly quotes Mr. Wilkinson”, the outcome can be traced to Jabez prayer. Something about Jabez’s simple, direct request to God changed his life and left a permanent mark on the history books of Israel. At first glance, the four requests may strike you as sincere, sensible, even noble, but not terribly remarkable. Yet just under the surface of each lies a giant paradigm breaker that runs exactly opposite to the way you and I usually think.”

In this book the Pray of Jabez’s requests can release something miraculous in your life.
Please get this book and read it. It has changed my life and my prayer life.  Do not think you are being selfish in praying this way.  God as I have said is a good God and is just waiting to Bless his children.

Prayed Up

Today is Sunday, a beautiful day.  Our family went to Church this morning.  Anna  went to Sunday School and Church, but the rest of us only made it to the Church service.  We had a wonderful service.  God touch the hearts of many today.  God can touch and work miracles if we just let Him.  I think sometimes we try to judge situations our selves and not let God lead us and tell us the true circumstances of things going on around us.  I learn many years ago, not to judge because I sure do not want people judging me.  One day I will have to stand before the great judge and that is enough for me.  Well anyway not sure where that came from, but I know God has a reason for me saying it.

I have prayed today about the Devotion for Monday.  The Lord has laid on my heart that I need to send out to you this prayer that I composed a few years ago.  It has ready blessed me and my family.  When I was learning about spiritual warfare and learning to pray as a spiritual warrior, God show me that I not only needed to pray but quote the word of God.   So here is the prayer.  I hope that it blesses you and your family as much as it has ours.

Remember when you pray this prayer, read it out loud, so satan and his little imps can hear you.  God’s word defeats satan.  Jesus used God’s word in the wilderness, when satan was temping him.  Remember Jesus said, satan it is written.

Well you have a good week and God Bless you.  Rev. Pat Aman

A Prayer for Spiritual Warfare

Composed by: Rev. Patricia Aman/1989

(Proverbs 4:20-22, 6:2, 18:4) The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. Every word spoken becomes a living thing, to minister or to destroy.

(Roman 12:1) Heavenly Father, according to Your Word, I present my body a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable in Your sight.

(Isaiah 43:26) And Lord you tell me to put you in remembrance and for us to talk together daily that I may ask and be forgiven of my sins. So I ask you to remember the promises you have for me, as I keep Your commandments and ask forgiveness of my sins.

(2 Timothy 1:7) And I thank you that I do not have a spirit of fear, but a sound mind in Jesus name.

(Colossians 1:9-11) I desire to be filled with the knowledge of Your will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that I walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all patience and long-suffering.

(Nehemiah 8:10) with joyfulness; for the Lord is my strength.

I thank you for the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, common sense and comprehension that you give me in all that I do today.

(Ephesians 6:14-17) Father, I gird my loins about with truth, I put on the breastplate of righteousness, and I shod my feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Above all, I take the shield of faith, wherewith I shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And I take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

(Isaiah 58:8) And the Glory of the Lord is my rear guard.

(Isaiah 61:3) Father, I put on the garment of praise, and thank You for the armor You have provided for me to dress in this day. I am completely covered now in the name of Jesus, according to Your word.

(Matthew 16:18) Upon Jesus I have built my entire life, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

(Psalms 23:1) You are my shepherd, I shall not want.

(Philippians 4:13 and 19) I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and You shall supply all my needs, according to Your riches in Glory.

(2 Corinthians 10:5) I cast down all imaginations, and bring into captivity every evil thought.

(I Peter 5:7) I cast all my care on You, for You care for me.

(Isaiah 53:5) I thank You and praise You for walking in divine health and prosperity, because by Your stripes I am healed.

(Psalms 103:5) My soul does prosper in you, and You heal all my diseases.

(Psalms 107:20) As you have sent your word and gave me good health.

(Deuteronomy 8:1) All the commandments, which You have commanded me, I will do, so I may live, multiply, and possess those blessings that You have promised me.

(St. John 15:7) For Lord, You tell me that if I abide in You and Your word abides in me, I may ask what I will and it shall be.

(Jeremiah 1:12) Now Father, I have prayed according to Your Word, and you say You would watch over Your word to perform it. Now I stand on this promise, so rise up in me big today, for I am Yours, in the name of Jesus.

Amen and Amen

Wagging Tongues

I have realized this week that gossip can really damage a person’s life.  When people talk about situations without really knowing the facts, they can literally destroy a person.

(Proverbs 6: 16-19) says, ” These six things the Lord hates, Yes, but the seventh is an abomination to Him.  A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, and a false witness who speaks lies and one who sows discord among brethren .”

When we read these verses  we can see that  there are six things the Lord hates. They are: when we act proud, lie, hurt the innocent, premeditate evil, run to take part in wrong actions, and one who spreads gossip. He then says of all these things that the seventh is an abomination  to Him, and that is when one  instigates problems between people.

In our hurches today that seems to be the most common problem.  I believe that alot of times it is caused by jealousy.  If we would read this scripture and really think about it,  I am sure it would stop so much discord among church members and the world as a whole.

Do you understand that He is saying  that to sow discord is an abomination.  Webster defines abomination as intense aversion or loathing.  He also describes loathing as a strong dislike mingled with disgust.   Hey!!! Do you get this yet? God gets disgusted with us.

Even though He hates the first six, the seventh is the worst.

Yet, why are there so many churches who are losing members because they cannot keep their mouths shut?

We should be a shining light in our communities and lead the way for peace among brethren.  So the next time you start to jabbering about someone else, you need to think about the life you may be destroying.

Father God, I praise your Holy Name.  I thank you that you have forgiven me of my sins.  And Father God help me not to judge other people by their actions, but to let them see your actions in me.
In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen and Amen
