Walk By Faith, Not By Sight

prayer

2 Corinthians 5:7 – We are to walk by FAITH and not by sight.

WOW! So, powerful few words that were ever written in God’s Word.

Please read all the scriptures in the devotion below. You can read the entire scpritures in John chapter 11. I will add important life facts at the end.

I even think of Mary and Martha when Jesus delayed and Lazarus was put in the grave. They wondered why Jesus tarried. Even to the point, that when Jesus arrived, Martha said, ” Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”

But, still when Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.”
She still questioned Jesus. And it says, “Jesus Wept.”

Jesus did not wept because Lazarus was dead, He wept because of their unbelief, their lack of faith.

And Jesus could not do a thing until Martha and Mary gave Him permission to show them that He was the resurrection and the life.

When Jesus said, “Remove the stone.” They said, Lord by this time there is a stench for he has been dead four days.”

Jesus said to them, “:Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

Then they took the stone away and Jesus said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me. but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”

And we know the end of the story. Lazarus came forth! And Jesus said, “Loose him, and let him go.”

I, Myself, have had such a great burden in the passed year or so. I have prayed and not understood at times why things were going the way they were in areas of our lives.

I myself, had concerned so much that it was getting to me, and my health, but still I prayed.

But, a few weeks ago I told God, “Father God, you have to take care of this situation. I place it totally in Your hands. Father God give wisdom, knowledge, comprehension and commonsense where it is needed. Father God, I today turn it completely over to you.”

Friends, I can say that tonight, I will rest soundly. Tonight I do not have a heavy heart anymore. For God answered my prayers and others as they were needed in His timing  not mine. And friends, God is always on time, even if it seems four days late.

So, tonight I Praise God for His answered prayers and blessing. I am singing praising to Him and Him alone.

For today, I learned and remembered the scripture, we must walk by faith and not by sight.

Let’s Get Our Act Together

Let’s Get Our Acts Together
Written By: Pastor Pat Aman
July 7, 2016

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
II Chronicles 7:14

It is so sad tonight to see what had happen in Dallas, Texas. 11 officers were shot. 5 of them died. 1 civilian was also shot.
Also, sad that two lives were already taken earlier this week in Louisiana and Minnesota.

America is killing America

I will tell you now, I have faced this personally. I have dealt with racism first hand.

I will tell you now, I have faced this personally. As I, and many throughout the USA were going to begin school with all creeds, nationalities and colors my school was burnt to the ground.

In 1968 the phone rung at 5:00am, and I answered to the voice saying look at your window.

As I did I saw red flames and black smoke coming from the school I had attended since the 4th grade. I would of been entering the 9th grade that very morning.

I went to my parents bedroom and awoke them with the news.

This became a very long and hard year for our small town.

Our town became a target to be burnt down.

We had National Guard and The Military base surrounding our town to protect us from buses load of people coming into our town to kill and burn it down.

This just brings to memory what a high official of the Russia government said about America.

I have this quote below.

Church stop fighting, gossiping, and letting jealousy bring our churches down. Our churches have got so busy with business and playing church, instead of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Instead of acting like the world, let’s get our act together, and repent and ask God to come back into our churches and our nation.

The prophets prophesy falsely. Jeremiah 14:14 says that they lie in my name. I sent them not, neither did I command them.

The word of God says in the book of Matthew that these are the days of sorrow and vengeance.

Fires destroy homes, and land kills people. Bridges fall in and kill. Tornadoes kill and destroy homes. Hurricanes destroy and kill. Floods all over the world destroy homes and kill. Droughts destroy and kill livestock and grain. Wars kill many of our young men.

Amos in the Old Testament says, “Seek me and ye shall live.”

I know you are saying, Pastor Pat, are you blaming the church? NO! But I am blaming Christians including myself for letting our freedoms and rights be taken away from us.

I am blaming Christians including myself for letting prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance for be taking out of our schools.

WHY? Because we have sit back and warmed the pew too long, instead of warming our knees at the alter.

Our country was established on Christians standards and beliefs and only we as Christians can take the responsibility for them being taken away.

So, just maybe instead of going to church this Sunday, listening to another message, then going home, eating and taking a nap, we need to go and tarry around the alter until we break through Heavens gates straight to the heart of God. God does say, “If my people…!”

A Russian leader said years ago that America will destroy herself within, not with war or by war.

“We will take America without firing a shot … we will bury you!

“We can’t expect the American people to jump from capitalism to communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have communism.

“We do not have to invade the United States, we will destroy you from within.”

This is a quote attributed to the late Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev.

Sounds like a wise man, a modern day Nostradamus — and also a man who helped Stalin murder hundreds of thousands of political opponents in Russia.

I know everyone who intends to vote already has choosen their candidate. I beg you to keep in mind that freedoms we have enjoyed in the past are being taken from us a little at a time, just as Khrushchev predicted.
I think its time to turn this country around, starting now, on our knees.

“YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO THE TABLE .”

God is calling you to His Table.
God is calling you to His Table.

Sometimes in our lives we wonder why things just do not seem to go right. We try and try, but always come to a road block. You may even know that God has something special for you but you just seem to never be able to grab the brass ring.

Well, today let me tell you in eight words what you need to do.

“YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO THE TABLE .”
Author: Pastor Pat Aman 2009/16

You have been feasting on yesterday’s bread too long, and because of this you have become stagnant. You need to return to God’s table and feast on some new Manna from Heaven.

Nutritionists will tell you that when you are trying to lose weight that you must lower you calorie intake. When you do this you will lose weight. But then there may come a time that you stop losing weight. You hit a plateau. You may still be exercising and doing the same thing that made you lose the weight before, but you seem to not be losing anymore weight. .

They then tell you when this happens you need to increase you calorie intake up maybe even about 400 calories a day to trick your body into change. In other words you body has gotten use to the old routine and it is just satisfied at where it is, and does not want to change. As you increase your calorie intake you body thinks wow, what is going on, more food, so it will start to burn calories again. Your metabolism will kick back into high gear to start burning the extra calories that you are eating. Even if you maybe just increased your proteins and lower carbohydrates.

It is the same way with your spiritual body. When you first get saved you pray and read your Bible. You want to learn everything you can about your new life in Jesus. You are running at full speed. You are filling your spiritual tank each day with new Manna from above.

Then all of a sudden life happens and you start to fill yourself with the complication of the world. You run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. Soon the garbage piles up.

Why? Because you are feeding less at the table of God. You become stagnant. You seem to be at a standstill, and going nowhere. You have used your entire spiritual calorie intake, and you just feel awful, depressed, and do not have the energy to do what God has called you to do anymore.

Well friends, Go back to the table. You have feasted on yesterday bread too long, and it has run out, so now it times to learn some new things. It is time to seek God for your family and yourselves.
As you feast at the table of God, you will soon realize that, hey, I am now going in the right direction. I know what God has called me to do. Hey, life if getting better daily.

See, you are adding some new calories to you spiritual diet. Calories of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, common sense, and now you are able to comprehend exactly what God is saying to you.

So, friends go back to the table, read your Bible. Pray and Spend time with you Heavenly Father and see your life change and grow in the Lord.

John 6:22-35
The Bread from Heaven
22 On the following day, when the people who were standing on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except that one which His disciples had entered, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with His disciples, but His disciples had gone away alone—

23 however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks—

24 when the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they also got into boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

25 And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”

26 Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”

29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

30 Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will you perform then, that we may see it and believe you? What work will you do?

31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”

32 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

34 Then they said to Him, “Lord, give us this bread always.”

35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

Jesus said to us, “Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life.” What is the prime goal of our lives? For what are we working? Just as bread supplies our bodies with strength and nourishment, Jesus, the true bread from heaven, came to strengthen and nourish his people—to change their lives, to bring spiritual and eternal life to all who would believe in him! Jesus offers the ultimate spiritual satisfaction: if we believe in him, we will never hunger or thirst.

What are you working for? You may live in a big house, wear designer clothing, own property, and eat expensive meals, you will still be hungry if you do not have Jesus in your life. And you may live in a not so big house and not have brand name clothes, and still be hungry if you do not have Jesus in your life. See, it does not matter your circumstances, all that matters is do you know Jesus?

Are you still hungry for something? What bread do you need? Do not work for the bread that is perishable. Do not waste your life for the bread that makes you hungry again. Work for the bread that you can share with the unfortunate, and have the bread of faith from heaven, that eternally satisfies your hunger.

Law of the Garbage Truck
Author Unknown

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were
driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a
parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his
brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, ‘Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!’ This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, ‘The Law of the Garbage Truck.’

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they’ll dump it on you. Don’t take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don’t take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so….Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don’t. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

So friends, go back to the table and give God your garbage. He knows what to do with it.

Your Bucket List

image
What is on your bucket list?
What is something that you may need to conquer, face or maybe just complete in your life?

I just got back from spending time helping my sister who 84.

One of the things I think I realized was she is not 50 years old anymore. I saw a person who is saved and ready to go to Heaven, and still continually shares the Gospel of Jesus to the world, and prays for everyone she sees, but deep inside has a concern that she is slowly losing her independence.

Yes, she is no longer able to do the things she use to do. And I will tell you that she has always been the person to help others. She would do without so others would not be without.

As a matter of fact if people would stop and think about it, they would line up at her door just to say thank you.

But, I do know as I heard her pray every night, “Lord, as long as I can be a service to you, let me stay and do your work, but, Lord, I am ready to come home when you call me.”

You know, just as she is, we can also be confident that the good work He began in her, you and me, He will complete in each of us.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; (Philippians 1:6)

We must believe that we were created by God for a special assignment for him. We are not here by mistake, and we are not a mistake.

Remember, God’s Word.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

So, let’s set our eyes on the brass ring as they say, and grab it.

Because, Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9)

Will I ride the bull. I will let you know later.

Love, Blessings and Prayers,
Pastor Pat.

I want to thank Dot for sharing a devotion I wrote many years ago. Dot built my first web-site and had it hosted for me. She also helped review and correct my grammar in many of my devotions. She also helped with my copyright to the devotions.

Joe and I had the privileged to visit with Doran and Dot McEntire in their home in Missouri. Doran in now walking the streets of Heaven, but Ms. Dot continues to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thank you Dot,

Dot’s Devotions
The main objective of this Blog is to help us trust God more and grow in grace as we pray for His guidance and accept His will for our life. Oh, to be more Christ-like! That should be every Christian’s aim! That’s what we need to strive for and pray for… so that God will say to us, “Welcome home, thou good and faithful servant.”

When I read the devotion below from my dear friend, Pat Aman, I felt the need to post it for you. Thank you, Pat, for allowing me the privledge of using one of your devotions. Her site link is below her devotion.I pray you will seriously and prayerfully consider asking God to bring an accountability partner into your life.
My dearest friend is Judith George and she has been my accountability partner for over twenty years… what a blessing it has been to have such a friend! Thank You Father God!

Accountability Partners
Written by : Pat Aman – 1999

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up”!

Lets talk about the value of being in a regular small group of believers to share and grow in Christ. Small groups, in my opinion, are where growth occurs while worship services are where we acknowledge God for Who He is, and celebrate our growth in Christ.

I want to take this a step further and talk about having an “Accountability Partner.” Being accountable to someone, gives us more incentive to be even more like Christ and to be more intimate with Christ. One of the reasons we slip in our Christian walk is that generally, we answer to no one.

We don’t intentionally start out the day and say “today I will fail at walking the talk.” We all have good intentions. A person does not walk in a bar and say “today I think will become an alcoholic”. No one wants to fail, no one intentionally misses the mark; a devoted Christ-follower does not intentionally fall into to the traps and snares that are placed before us in life.

Okay, let’s get practical. How do I find a partner, and what is my accountability partner going to hold me accountable for? We must carefully chose our partner.

Proverbs 13:20 “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm”.

The primary issue which people I have talked with hold each other accountable for, is the area of Spiritual Disciplines. A daily check-up on Bible reading, prayer, quiet time, etc. In another words holding you accountable for your relationship with God. Other areas are family relationships, use of time and money, moral behavior and personal struggles.

Building an accountability relationship with someone takes time. Lots of time. The most successful partners that I have seen have formed as an offshoot of a small group environment. Two people may connect in the group and then start meeting once a week on their own, to further develop their trust in each other, which leads to a true accountability

Let’s look at what the Bible tells us about choosing an accountability partner.

James 5:16 (NRSV) “Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective”.

1 Th 5:11 (NRSV) “Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing”.

Prov 17:17 (NCV) “A friend loves you all the time, and a brother helps in time of trouble”.

First: Two things an accountability partner is not: This person is not a counselor to you, nor are you a counselor to them. A counselor is someone that you ask questions of and seek answers from. An accountability partner is someone that can ask us questions, and we are able to disclose the true answers. See the difference?

In a counseling situation, I go to someone and ask questions. In an accountability situation, my partner comes to me and asks me the questions about my life. The partner can ask any question to help keep me on course.

An accountability partner is not a fellowship partner. You don’t go to breakfast once a week and talk about the weather. You have to get beyond the mundane and surface-level conversations. You are allowing someone to see inside of you, to see past the smokescreens that we put up. It means getting past the Sunday morning conversation of “How are things?” and you say “great, nice weather we are having,” when actually you are struggling with sin, your kid is flunking in school and your dog has quit speaking to you. : )

Is the picture of an accountability partner becoming clearer? This person must be someone on the same page or close to you spiritually. He or she also needs to be someone trustworthy and discreet. And it needs to be, on balance, an equal partnership. This person should not be a gossiper, or one to run and start drama and confusion. AND, One partner does not dominate the other with their own problems.

Now, of course, life challenges are not always equal. Some meetings or conversations with your partner will be one-sided; sometimes we need to just unload our burdens and that is great. But… over the course of the relationship, there is balance and equality in the sharing.

Finally, It just plainly and simply takes a lot of prayer and time to find the ideal accountability partner. As I said, the ideal place to find a partner is in your small group. People will tend to gravitate toward each other based on common interests and spiritual maturity.

Oh, and you will NOT find these persons in gossip groups, but in real sold-out-to-Christ Bible and Prayer Groups.

Father, guide us and lead us today. Help us find a partner to hold us accountable. The plan you have laid out for us in Your Word is a perfect plan. Help us to live by your plan for us. Father thank you for Your Son Jesus, Who gives us the perfect example for our lives. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Four Days Late, But Right On Time

Jesus Was Four Days Late, But Right On Time.
Written by: Pastor Pat Aman

There are times in all of our lives that we reach a point that all we can do is just stand. We feel that we are facing stones so big in our lives that they cannot be moved. During these times I have learned that God is standing with me. He is preparing me for a new journey, or a new Ministry.

Mary and Martha had stood. They sent a message for Jesus to come now because their brother Lazarus was sick.

Jesus received the message but He tarried, for He was about His Father’s business. Jesus also knew the out come.

See, God knows the out come to our circumstances when we turn them over to Him and believe by and in Faith.

When Jesus was coming to the home of of His dear friends, Martha met Him and said, ” if you had come my brother would not have died.”

Jesus told Martha, I Am the resurrection and the life.

Of course Martha still questioned Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

She said yes, Lord.

Then Lazarus sister Mary and others coming up and weeping.
Mary said, to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

As Jesus saw them weeping, He begin to weep, but not because Lazarus had died, but, because of their unbelief.

Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.””

Do you UNDERSTAND, that Jesus could do nothing until Mary and Martha gave Him permission to remove the stone away.

We may have a stone or stones in our lives, but Jesus cannot break the bondage we are in, until we give Him permission to remove the stone.

So, today, let your faith arise up in you. Give Jesus permission to remove and loose the stones of bondage in your lives and see a miracle take place within you.

God bless each of you,
Blessings, Love and Prayers,
Pastor Pat Aman
“Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.” When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. Then after this He said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.” The disciples said to Him, “Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?” Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.” Then His disciples said, “Lord, if he sleeps he will get well.” However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep. Then Jesus said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him.” Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with Him.” So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away. And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Now Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house. Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.” Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. And He said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to Him, “Lord, come and see.”

Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!” And some of them said, “Could not this Man, who opened the eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying?” Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying.

We humans spend a lot of our lives waiting. Some of us are waiting for test results, while others are waiting for dreams to come true. Yes, their are times we have to wait and there are times that God answers our prayers and petitions immediately. Just remember, God always just on time.

The Bible has a lot to say about waiting, so let’s look at some stories about waiting, and see what we can learn from them.

Abraham was promised that He would father many nations.

(Hebrews 6:13-15) For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14 saying, “I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU. 15 And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.

God never breaks promises, so it was just a matter of “when.”

But God’s timing is not always ours. (Isaiah 55:8)

Abraham didn’t see the promise fulfilled when one would expect it, when he and Sara were of “childbearing years.”

But with our God everything is possible, and after waiting many years, Abraham’s wife gave birth to Isaac. Note that Abraham waited patiently. We are to not become impatient with God. He will fulfill His promises in His time. Joseph was another “waiter.” His jealous brothers left him for dead in a pit. It was years before they were reunited. Meanwhile, Joseph remained sensitive to God’s plans for him, and did his best with what he had.

(Genesis 39:1-2) Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an Egyptian officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the bodyguard, bought him from the Ishmaelites, who had taken him down there. 2 The LORD was with Joseph, so he became a successful man. And he was in the house of his master, the Egyptian.

He waited actively. When we are in a period of waiting, we must do what we know is God’s will. Perhaps we aren’t sure of all of His will, but we need to be doing what we ARE sure of; He will take care of the rest. We must give our best, and He will honor that.

The widow banging on the judge’s door was yet another “waiter,” albeit not so patiently.

(Luke 18:5) yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.

She was persistent. Jesus taught this parable to teach us about persevering in prayer. When we wait, we should never stop praying about the situation in which we are waiting. She also had hope, or she would have given up. We must never give up hope, though we must be prepared for God to change our hopes to align with His will.

(Romans8:25) But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

An excellent passage on waiting in trials, is found in Romans 5.

(Romans 5:3-5) And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; 4 and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; 5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Again we see that we are to wait with growing perseverance and hope. Sometimes we tend to think of in-between times as wasted time. But if we follow God’s guidelines, our waiting can be fruitful times of growth.

Fruit of the Vine

untitled

Fruit of the Vine
Written By: Pastor Pat Aman

As we read the 15 Chapter of John, do you really understand what it is saying. You are fruit bearers. We are connected to the vine which is Jesus. There are times when we must be pruned by God in order to grow and bear better and sweeter fruit. We are connected the life giving blood of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. We must today live a fruitful life for Him. I am ready, how about you?

John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit–fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.

Jesus is the Vine, we are the branches. Did you realize that the Branches bear the fruit, not the vine? We are branches grafted to the vine; we have been attached to it. In order for a grafted branch to bear fruit it must be of the same basic nature as the vine. It must have the same texture and must be at nearly the same level of growth as the vine; if not then the branch will not receive the nourishment from the vine, and will wither and die.

The fruit Jesus wants is the fruit of Love. This is the nature of the vine, and it is to be our nature; we are to love one another AS Jesus loved us. We cannot manage this on our own, but, bless God, we aren’t on our own. The Word and Spirit of God are ours, the very Love of God is ours. That Love, born in God’s heart, is shed abroad in our own hearts by the Holy Spirit. It comes to us from the Vine, Messiah Jesus, the Head of the Body.

Romans 5:5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

We are to rest from our own Earthly labors and begin to go about the Business of our Head, the business of the Vine. We are to bear fruit for the Vine. We will bear fruit when we allow God’s Word and Spirit to conform us to the image of Jesus, for then we will be fully-grafted, and the Love of God will flow through us to bear the Fruit.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

And, as was said above:

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”

Jesus was a branch, and the Father was the Vine. Remember that he said, I do nothing of myself, but that which the Father does, I do. Jesus bore fruit for the Father, and now we must bear fruit for Jesus. The process requires little of us; we must simply choose the Word, the Spirit, and the Love. The Vine produces the nourishment which keeps us healthy, and that same nourishment produces the fruit through us.

“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

There is no greater Joy than that of doing the work we were created for. We can only find complete fulfillment in doing the works of our Father. That is because it is innate to our very nature. We were created so as to only be truly complete In Him. Only when we are yielded to Him, and the Love of God is flowing through us producing fruit, can we be totally satisfied.

Give Me My Doll Back!

Give Me My Doll Back NOW!!!!!
Written By: Pat Aman

(Isaiah 41:10) says, “Fear thou not; For I am with thee…. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee…”

I recall reading a story, about a little girl whose older brother, was teasing her and took her doll. She screamed give me my doll back. But to no avail, the older brother ran with her doll. She continue running after him and screaming, give me my doll. The all of a sudden her daddy drove up in the yard. She ran to her dad, took him by the hand and went to where her brother was. Then holding her dad’s hand, she looked at her brother and said, ” GIVE ME MY DOLL!” Her brother thrust the doll into her hands instantly.

This story made me think, if we are facing something that requires more strength and courage and coping ability than we feel we have, take heart. Even in the most turbulent storms of our lives, we can run to our Father God, take Him by the hand, and He will lift us up. He will give us the strength to face the most difficult times in our lives.

I know that there are times when satan tries to steal our joy, peace, contentment and love, but when these times come, just grab Father God by the hand and take Him with you to face satan. Then in the strength of your Father just tell satan he must give back to you in Jesus Name what he has tried to steal from you. Remember, our, Father God, is right beside us, holding our hand. So, satan has to let go of our life.

Again remember we just need to scream at satan and tell him to give us GIVE US OUR DOLL BACK RIGHT NOW, IN JESUS NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“When satan comes knocking at your door, just ask Jesus to answer the door for you.” Quote Author: Unknown

Don’t Forget To Dance!
Devotion Written By: Pastor Pat Aman

Copyright: 2005

“GUIDANCE”

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. Psalm 149:3

When I meditated on the word GUIDANCE, I kept seeing “dance” at the end of the word. I remember reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing. I do not even know how to dance so this was soul stirring to me.

But I do remember that when Joe and I owned our own business, we use to go to a lot of conventions. There was a older couple, in their 70’s who went to the conventions every year also. They did Ball Room dancing. I remember loving to watch them dance. It was like a glove on a hand. It fit perfectly. They flowed like two doves soaring in the sky. Each one seem to know what the other wanted. The woman seem to float as her partner lead the way. It was beautiful.

This makes me think again about the word

“Gui-dance.”

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn’t flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It’s as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word GUIDANCE.

When I saw “G,” I thought of God, followed by “u” and “i.” “God, ‘u” and “i” dance.” ! !

God, you, and I dance

This statement is what guidance means to me.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

See, I (we) do not let God lead our lives we will never be in a close relationship with God. It is like having a head knowledge of Him and not a heart knowledge of Him.

I do not know about you, but I want to continue to dance with God, and letting Him lead me. I want to dance with God.

My prayer for you today is that God’s blessings and mercies be upon you and your family on this day and everyday. May you abide in Him as He abides in you.

John 15:7 says, “If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you may ask what you will and it will be.”

Dance together with God, trusting Him to lead and to guide you through each season of your life.

God, I ask you to bless my friends, relatives and e-mail friends reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power of the Holy! Spirit. ! I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace. My prayer is they learn to dance with you.

Matthew Henry Commentary
149:1-5 New mercies continually demand new songs of praise, upon earth and in heaven. And the children of Zion have not only to bless the God who made them, but to rejoice in him, as having created them in Christ Jesus unto good works, and formed them saints as well as men. The Lord takes pleasure in his people; they should rejoice in Him. When the Lord has made sinners feel their wants and unworthiness, he will adorn them with the graces of his Spirit, and cause them to bear his image, and rejoice in his happiness for ever. Let his saints employ their waking hours upon their beds in songs of praise. Let them rejoice, even upon the bed of death, assured that they are going to eternal rest and glory.

I Hope You Dance!!!
