God Has This! Even Your Failures!
Author: Pat Aman
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” Isaiah 26:3
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
Sometimes we just need Father God to give us a pop on our backsides.
That was me this week.
Again and again He’s been whispering to my heart, “Come here. Your heart is wonderful, but heavy. Your personality and love for others is mighty, even at times when you have been hurt, you just keep rolling with the punches. You have a generous heart, and sometimes you totally empty it out to make others smile. But, I need you to remember you need to keep a smile for yourself.
And your failures are your successes to growth.
I made you and I love you and there are lots of other people feeling the same way you do. I love them too.”
I then looked around at my flower beds which needs a lot of work and care. But, my energy depleted. My house and my empty content calendar that is always filled and running over looks blank. And I felt like I was sinking faster than a rock chained with a ball weight, and I despaired.
But, then I am reminded of the last weekend that I enjoyed a back porch full of people laughing, eating and enjoying life. I saw neighborhood children running passed me feeling free to enjoy my home.
But, then today because of missed communication and crossed wires, I feel I let a dear friend down. Embrassment is more than I could take. I cried. But all I can do is apologize and pick myself up and face tomorrow.
I talked to my oldest daughter today and told her of my missing a important event.
She said, “Mom, you were not supposed to be there. If you were, God would of made sure the individuals called and made you aware of the events, and time schedule. Mom you are not a mind reader. People have to be responsible, or have someone in charge to let individuals know of any updates. Mom, you absolutely have never been late are missed anything before that God planned for you to be part of ever. God was in control, and knew the reason, you should not attend, and He is never wrong.”
But, it was hard, when you feel you let someone down.
It made me think of Peter. He let his friend, his brother in Christ, his Master, his Savior down.
My heart goes out to Peter. He loved Jesus, but in a moment of weakness, denied and disowned Him. How his heart must have ached when he realized what he had done. How Jesus’ heart must have ached knowing Peter would deny him.
Peter is just like you and me. There were times in his life when he fell short of the mark. But he didn’t give up on his faith; He repented and kept going on with God. We can too. We all fail at times. We all fall short of the mark. But we don’t have to stay in our failing. We can choose to rise up again and carry on with God.
God already knows when we will fail. He is there with arms open wide ready to embrace us when we call out to Him. He forgives and restores us.
God knows even when you miss the mark, because people did not communicate with you. God also knows and understands their circumstances, and He has it all under control.
When you do fail, don’t feel as though God could never use you again. That’s a lie from Satan. God does not give up on us that easily. God will raise us up again, to walk in sweet fellowship with Him.
So, I as you can depend on Father God, to keep us in perfect peace when we keep our minds steadfast in Him, because they trust in you.”
