“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;”
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
There are many things in Fathers God’s big beautiful world that I love and appreciate, and the splendor and majesty of home and family warms my heart. And when the days are filled relaxing on the front porch, with a cup of warm apple cider and feeling the coolness of the fall season is nearing, I am in my happy place.
I love autumn best of all seasons and every few days, something in the mood of the day reminds me that autumn is on its way. Autumn Memories is my favorite season.
Spring is tender and summer lush, but it is fall that touches my heart strings in the most wonderful season. I don’t really know why I love the freshening wind, the earthy colors, the crackle of leaves when you walk through the forest. I love the early twilight, the fields being harvest, sitting around the fire pit listening and smelling the snapping of wood burning and birds heading south. Browns and greens, burnt orange, deep purple and scarlet. The colors of fall are the colors of turning leaves and turned soil. And just a glimpse of any of these colors in other seasons brings autumn to my mind.
But, I also think of seasons in our life.
Spring, is a time of new birth, growing, refreshing and restoration. Spring is a time for us to embark on new journeys and start new projects with fresh ideas.
Summer, sets us free and nourishes us and sustains with the excitement of life with new adventures The days are longer, and the nights are warm and welcoming.
Fall, think of this as nature’s one last adventure before fading away into winter. In the realm of life, this is like dying away and burial of old fading life. It is a time to be thankful for what we have experienced throughout the year and begin to wind down for rest and prepare for next year.
Winter, a time of rest and reflection as our activities seems to come to a standstill as dormancy. Winter is a time to analyze your actions. Think of the year that has passed and think of the blessings of the coming year. A time to rest and restore ourselves for the new birth of spring.
But, again Autumn is my favorite time of the year. A time when I think of Father God getting ready to remold me into His perfect image. He will remove every chipped , cracked, stained and broken pieces of my life, as He takes away my stubbornness of myself, and makes me precious in His sight.
