Forgiveness-Part 2

Forgiveness – Part 2

Written By: Pat Aman

I want to share a Part 2, to last nights devotion. My testimony and opinions were long, so I want to share with you, now from my study Bible.

The following is directly quoted from the Study Bible.

**Lack of forgiveness blocks access to the kingdom and to its marvelous power. Quote:,Pat Aman”

Matthew 6:5-15,

5.”And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to praystanding in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

6. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to yourFather, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

7. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they thinkthey will be heard because of their many words.

8. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9. “This, then, is how you should pray:

  ” ‘Our Father in heaven,

  hallowed be your name,

10. your kingdom come,

  your will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.

11. Give us today our daily bread.

12. Forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13. And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from the evil one.[a

14. For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

15. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgiveyour sins.

Mark 11:22-26

22. “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered.

23. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throwyourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

24. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that youhave received it, and it will be yours.

25. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

The first person you probably have not forgiven is yourself. More people lack forgiveness toward themselves than toward anybody else. They are unwilling to forgive themselves and to recognize that God say,

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12)

If you are a believer, He has already cleansed your conscience from dead-works so that you might serve the living God.

Hebrews 9:14

14.How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

God cleans us for service in order not to leave us with the guilt of past sin.

21. That should be dead, buried, and forgotten.

“If our heart does not condemn us,” the Bible says, “we have confidencetoward God.” (I John 3:21)

Obviously, we cannot have continuing sin in our lives and expect-forgiveness. We have to be free from ongoing conscious sin and rebellion against God. But if we are walking in the light, and walking in forgiveness, the blood of Jesus Christ is continuously cleansing us from all sin.

(I John 1:7)

7. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowshipwith one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

The second person we have to forgive, if we have bitterness, is GodHimself. There are people who blame God because a child died, because a husband ran away, because they have been sick, because they have not had enough money. Consciously or unconsciously they think all of these things are God’s fault.  There is deep-seated resentment; yet you cannot be resentful toward God and experience kingdom power flowing in your life; you have to rid yourself of any bitterness toward God. That may take some soul-searching. Yu must ask yourself, “Am I blaming God for my situation?

The third person you may have to forgive is a member of your family.

You have to get rid of resentment, especially toward those closet to you. The husbands, the wives, the children, and the parents, all must be forgiven when slights and resentments have built up in family situation.

Many people say, “Well, I didn’t think that counted. I thought that was just a family matter.” All lack of forgiveness has to be eliminated, especially toward every family member.

Finally, there has to be forgiveness for anybody else who has everdone anything against you. It may be that your resentment is justified.

The person may have done a very evil, terrible thing to you. You may have every legal and intellectual right to hold a grudge and to hate that person. But if you want to see kingdom life and power flow in your life, it is absolutely imperative that you forgive.

Forgive them to the point where you actually feel yourself cleansed of resentment and bitterness and are actually praying for them. If you do not, the lack of forgiveness will make it impossible for God’s power to be released to and in you. The miracle life depends 100 percent on your relationship to God the Father. That relationship is built strictly on the strength of His forgiveness of your sin.

Forgiveness is the key. Other sins can be present, and if your heart condemns you for something else, then of course you do not have confidence before God. But it is lack of forgiveness that often comes between people and God.**

Blessings, Prayers, and Love,

Pat Aman

Forgiveness-Part 1

Coffee With Pat
Written By: Pat Aman

Well, let’s get started. I myself, have been hurt, by people that I loved and cared for. I have now made it through, crossed over to be free, because I have choosen to forgive them. I hope that I can share with you, what you need to do, to make it through.

I know that in reading the devotion below you are saying, ” I know all of this” but, you still may feel that you cannot forgive someone.  If this is the circumstances, the first thing you need to do, is ask God to give you the will to forgive. He will do it. I do not have a problem with forgiving.  As a matter of fact I have forgiven  persons whom have hurt and told lies against me.  I have even tried to reconcile with them. Even to the point of calling and saying Merry Christmas, and or etc.

But, there is an old saying hurt me once shame on you, hurt me twice, shame on me.

Reconciliation does not mean you have to keep going  back, again and again, or put yourself in a position to be hurt again, over and over.

Let’s say, every time you went to the State Fair, you ate a lot of junk food, then got a ride that turned you upside down, and you became sick. Don’t you think that after a while  you would catch on. If I do this, I will face these circumstances.

To be reconcile, is just to say, listen, I know what has happen, and I forgive you. If I have done anything to you please forgive me.I wish you
the best, and now  I have done my part. I made the step of faith. Now it is in God’s hands. That  is all God expects you to do. When you have forgiven the person and tried to reconcile with them, it is then up to God.

God knows that there are some people who refused to be reconciled with. But that is between them and God. You just do you part, because  I know that God also knows the circumstances, and does not want us to continue to be hurt.

I know that not only myself, but you have gone through things that were just not right.  I know that also you may feel anger, and resentment,
but you have to let it go.

Do not get caught up and trapped in the past. Do not dwell on the things and disappointments of the past.

I know that you are saying, “but I cannot forget, Pat, you just do not know how bad it hurt me.”

Friend, our life does sometimes pass before us. We remember the good and the bad. Some times we even dwell on the bad things over and over again.
You have to stop that now. Every time satan tries to bring the past up, tell him to get lost. You need to focus on the good things of life that God has for you. If you have done wrong, ask God to forgive you. When you do Praise God, He does not remember the bad in your life anymore, so why should you. The devil can only tell you lies, so stop listening to him.

One of the scriptures that God took me too, really helped me to understand, that I must forget the past, so I could reach forward to the goal God has planned for me.

Philippians 3:12-16
12. Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
14. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
16. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.

I know that with the last few years of many surgeries, if I had not let go, I would not be here today. I could have let bitterness take control, but God and I had a long talk, and He told me,”Pat, for your spiritual and emotional health, you have to let it go. If you do not, you will not get well, and you will stay in bondage of unforgiveness and resentment. It will rule you and destroy you. You must not try to correct the situation. I will take care of it. You are my child, and I will make sure things are straighten out, and I will take care of those who have hurt you. You just forgive them, love them in Me, and bless them, and turn them over to me. See, Pat, I know who you
are, and the people who know you also, knows who you are, so do not worry about your reputation. It stands high in my book. And Pat, look at what happen to my Son, Jesus. He was lied on, accused wrongly,  and hurt, but He knew that He had to go through it, so you would not be in bondage to hurt and unforgiveness.”

WOW!, when God talks to you, you better listen. Thank God I did.

Matthew 5:43-45
43. “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44. But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and
persecute you, 45. that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Matthew 18:21-22,21. Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin
against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
22. Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.  I know what you are saying,”Pat do you know how many times the same
person has hurt me?”

Yes, I been there, done that, and have a sweat shirt to show for it. It seems like it has been for me the same person over and over again.

But that does not matter.  We still have to forgive them over and over again. Not for their good, but for our spiritual and emotional health.  We have to remember that they may be taking it out on us because they are in a bondage of hurt and disappointments.  That is the reason God says, “For them, and pray for them.”

Matthew 5:23 -24,
23. Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you,
24. leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

Matthew 6:14-1514 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will
also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

We all want to be in Heaven together, Praising God, giving Him all the glory and honor He deserves.

Do not let unforgiveness keep you from entering Heaven. It will not be worth it.  Let God control your circumstances. Let God make a difference in your life.

Forgive and let God take care of all the rest.

Blessings, Prayers, and Love,

Joyfully, In The Master’s Service,

Pat Aman

Let Faith Works Come Alive In You
Author: Pat Aman…

(Haggai 2:23) says, “ In that day, says the Lord of hosts, I will take you, Zerubbabel, My servant the son of Shealtiel, says the Lord and will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you, says the Lord of Hosts.”

Zerubbabel was precious to God. God gave the example of a signet ring, because a signet ring represented an article of special value to its owner.

Zerubbabel’s name remains recorded for all to see as a sign of the special place granted him by God, for he is listed in the genealogies of our Lord Jesus. Zerubbabel let the Holy Spirit bring Faith’s works alive in him. He sought God and trusted God to provide for all his needs. He made God a priority in his life.

We must as Zerubbabel trust God and not our own wants and wishes.

I asked you this, which I know you have heard before, “want to see God laugh, tell Him your agenda.” Our agenda is not always God agenda for our lives. And I will tell you now, I prefer God’s agenda over mine. With God’s showing me the way I will never fall flat on my face, but with me doing anything my way, I will definitely fall on my face right into the middle of a cow pasture, just where a cow has been walking around and probably taking care of some business. I have found out that when we are not following God’s direction for our lives we will be having to face then same old stuff and going through the same things, over and over again. I do not know about you, but I got tired of going through. I was ready to cross over Jordon River and stop daggling my feet in the water.

I learned how to let Faith Works come alive in my life. So today I am telling you that you need to have faith to know that God knows what He is doing. He never fails. We need to remember we are God’s children and precious to God. He cares for us and wants His best for us. Not our best, but His best. We need to let Faith Works come alive in us.

The challenge to faith is the same in every generation; seek first the things of God and trust Him to provide the daily necessities of life. The glorification of any work we pursue comes by the presence of God in it. God calls us to commit what we are, what we have and all that we do to Him. Make the work of God a priority, both with your time and with your money. Understand that it is the presence of Jesus that produces glory. Choose to believe and reckon as true that we turn from selfish ambition and personal agenda to focus on advancing God’s kingdom, He will bless us toward that end.

Greater Works

Coffee With Pat

Author: Pat Aman

(St John 14:13-14) says, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

What a wonderful promise Jesus gave to us. The purpose of the Christian’s power of attorney, it glorifies God to answer all prayers and save, heal, and bless all men spiritually and materially.  But He cannot do so unless they ask in faith, nothing wavering. Please read Hebrews 11:6, James 1:5-8

and Mark 11:22-24.

The “21” reasons for greater works are:

1.   Satan is cast out

(John 12:31)

2.   Satan’s defeat on the cross

(Colossians 2:14-17) and (1 Peter 2:24)

3.   Completed redemption

(John 19:30) and (1 Peter 1:10-12

4.   Spirit baptism which could not be given until Jesus was glorified.

(John 7:37-39 and )(Acts 1: 4-8)

5.   Christ intercession for believers  (Romans 8:34) and (Hebrews 7:25)

6.   His restored glory

(John 17:5)

7.   High priesthood of Christ (Hebrews 4: 14-16)

8.   Headship of

(Ephesians 1:20-23)

9.   All authority given to Christ to give to believers

(Matthew 28:18-20) and (John 14: 12-15)

10. Completed victory over death, hell and the grave

(Hebrews 2:14-15) and (Revelations 1:18)

11. His headship of the church (Ephesians 1: 20-23) and (Colossians 1: 16-18)

12. Making of the New Covenant benefits based upon better promises and confirmed by greater powers.

(Matthews 26:28), (2 Corinthians 3: 6-15), (Hebrews 2:1-2), (Mark 16:

15-20) and (Luke 24:49)

13. Fullness of grace now possible in Christ

( John 1:17) and (Colossians 2:10)

14. Full salvation glory that was to follow the sufferings

(1 Peter 1: 10-12) and (Hebrews 2:1-4)

15. Entrance into the holiest by every believer now possible

(Hebrews 10: 19-38) and (Ephesians 2: 14-18)

16. Time for God to bless both Jew and Gentiles alike

(Ephesians 2: 12-18) and (Ephesians 3: 1-11)

17. Time to send men with full authority and power like God sent Christ.

(John 17:18, and 20:21)

18. Time for each believer to receive all the gifts and fruit of the Spirit, which they could only receive in part in the Old Testament.

(John 7: 37-39), (Matthew 17: 20) and (Mark (;23)

19.Time of no limitations in Christ, in the Spirit, and in the full benefits of the gospel promises.

(Matthew 17:20), (Mark 9:23), (John 15:7), (2 Corinthians 1:20) and (2 Peter 1: 1-12)

20. Time for the universality of the program of God in blessing all

nations. Believers would be carrying out the full program of the gospel in

world wide works of power even in a greater degree and kind than that of

Christ, depending upon the needs.

(Matthew 28:18-20), (Mark 16: 15- 20), (Luke 24:47-49), (Acts 1: 4-8) and (Genesis 12: 1-3)

21. Because I go to My Father and will not be here to continue My works or do greater ones, I will give My power to My disciples to carry on where I stopped. They will do the greater things that I would have done if I had continued.  I will give them authority and se to it that My work is carried on through them.

(John 14:12)

I hope that you take the time to look up each verse.  Do not just take my

word, but study God’s word.  Christ entrusted us enough to give us His

Power of Attorney.  Now what will you do with it?

Father God, Thank you for entrusting me to continue the great works that You began.  In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen and Amen

New Creature

New Creation

Author: Pat Aman

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

When we ask Jesus to come into our hearts and forgive us of our sins, He immediately cleanses us of our sins. We become a new person with new thoughts and actions.

But that does not mean we will not be temped anymore, it just means we now have the power to overcome temptation, by the power of the name of Jesus.

Jesus died on the cross, and shed His blood for us so we could be changed, forgiven, set free and deliver of our sins. Praise God!

As Children of God we must appropriate the fact that God has called us to live for Him. We must avoid any selfishness or personal ambition. We must practice diligence in everything,  and do what is right. Making sure our ethics reflect Jesus Christ in all our conduct.

People must see Jesus in us daily, in all our ways. We must try to live a life of holiness which requires that we live according to God’s standard, not that of the world.

We must be determine to grow spiritually. Such growth is painful because one undergoes stretching, molding, and refining by the Holy Spirit.

This is why it is so important to be willing to be shaped by the Holy

Spirit so that people can come to know Jesus through what what see in us.

Because of this we must spend time in God’s presence, in Prayer and Bible Study.

I promise you that you will not regret one second, minute or hour that you

spend time with God. For God Blessings His children and we get a renew spirit, every time we go and spend time with our Heavenly Father.

Just remember to daily keep Jesus in your heart and close to your heart.

There is a poem that I read back in the 70’s. As a matter of fact, my

husband Joe carries a cross in His pocket everyday, since we read this

poem. He does not carry it for show, but just to remind Him of the one who died for him, so that he could have eternal life.

A Cross In My Pocket

Written by Mrs. Verna Mae Thomas of McGehee, Arkansas.

All Rights Reserved

Carry a cross in my pocket

A simple reminder to me

Of the fact that I am a Christian

No matter where I may be.

This little cross is not magic,

Nor is it a good luck charm

It isn’t meant to protect me

From every physical harm.

It’s not for identification

For all the world to see

It’s simply an understanding

Between my Savior and me.

When I put my hand in my pocket

To bring out a coin or a key

The cross is there to remind me

Of the price He paid for me.

It reminds me, too, to be thankful

For my blessings day by day

And to strive to serve Him better

In all that I do and say.

It’s also a daily reminder

Of the peace and comfort I share

With all who know my Master

And give themselves to His care.

So, I carry a cross in my pocket

Reminding no one but me

That Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life. If only I’ll let Him be.

The Prophecy The Fulfillment

Preceded by Elijah
The Prophecy

Malachi 4:4-6, “Remember the Law of Moses my servant, which I commanded
him in Horeb for all Israel, with statutes and Judgments. Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land with a curse.”

The Fulfillment
Matthew 11:13 For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John. And
if you care to accept it, he himself is Elijah, who was to come.

If you are at all a student of the Bible, you will know that these are the last three verses of the Old Testament. It is interesting that the book ends with a reminder to keep the Law of Moses, and a promise that Elijah would precede the “great and dreadful day of the Lord.” This is a hard statement. How can the coming of Christ be termed such?

Well, this was the message of John the Baptist. He spoke with the Pharisees of the wrath to come (Matthew 3: 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?). And the whole message of Matthew 3 is a kind of changing of the guard. John the Baptist was sent before Christ to give notice. He warned them so that they might get ready for the coming of the one who would baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire (Matthew 3:12).

The day of the Lord was a day of ruin for the Jewish church and nation. John the Baptist came and gave the nation fair warning, but they rejected their Messiah. Speaking of Christ, John the Baptist says, “And his winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” (Matthew 3:12)

For what reason was the threshing floor cleaned? It is so that the Gentiles might be brought in.

John 15: 1 – 8,
1″I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5″I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
6If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing
yourselves to be my disciples.

John 15 speaks of the old branches that were not bearing fruit being pruned off and the new branches being grafted into the true vine. This is Christ’s opening the door to the Gentiles. It was fulfilled in Peter’s visits to Joppa and Cornelius in Acts 10.

It still seems kind of harsh. Not bearing fruit means cut off from the Lord. Regardless of how we interpret this concept or lesson from Scripture, there is at least some degree that this application can be drawn from these passages. The branches and by implication, the children of God, who do not bear fruit, are cast away or pruned off.

To some degree this looks like a works based theology, and I firmly believe that God wants us to be working for His kingdom. However, God is concerned foremost with the heart. And it is our heart attitude that we should be focused upon, lest we be like Ananias and Sapphira, who, in doing a good deed, did so with an evil heart and paid the cost, Acts 5.

Sure, we should be doers of the word and not just hearers. But the New
Testament Christian should guard his/her heart first and all these other
good things will, by God’s grace, follow

Friendship Is Like Stitches In A Quilt

Friendship Is Like Stitches In A Quilt
Author: Pat Aman

I love old Quilts. I have two that my Mama made, one that my Aunt made and gave to me when I got married, and my sister gave me two Quilt tops that one of my Aunts started making before she died.

I thought to myself, “Pat you need to finish those quilts.” But the problem is I have never quilted in my life. I also do not have a quilting frame. So my question would be where do I begin?

That is the same thing with friendships. God brings people into our lives who maybe just there for a season or a life time, and how we handle these friendships will make the difference on how these friendships will last and turn out. Will they be for a season, or a life time?

I know that I have friends whom I have not seen in several years, but if I needed them or they needed me we would be there for each other.

Proverbs 18:24 A man of many friends comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Can you have too many friends? Proverbs says you can. It’s like a lot of things. If you try to do too many things at once, you will do none of them well. If you try to do a few things, you have a chance to do all of them justice. If you try to overextend your self, everyone will feel a little short changed and begin to fall away. Choose your friends wisely too. The company you keep is an indication of your own character.

We all will have trials. Jesus promised us that in our lives we would have trials. Some of them are problems of our own making and some seem to seek us out unbidden. There is no indication that any of this is necessarily fair, so blaming anyone for a trial is a waste of time. None of the things that happened to Jesus, especially during the last week of his life on earth, had anything to do with fair. His disciples, His closes associates, all scattered in fear of their lives. Peter watched from a distance. Only John came to the foot of the cross with the women. This was a trial for the disciples as much as for Jesus. Out of it, they all learned something about themselves from their treatment of Jesus in His trial. Their lives where changed forever and, empowered by the Holy Spirit, they rattled the Roman world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a generation.

Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy.

On the road to Emmaus, Jesus called two of his friends slow and dull of heart. To these two who did not recognize Him yet, it must have been quite a moment to have been corrected so strongly by a stranger. I can hear Jesus laughing a little in feigned disbelief as He chided them. But there was so much truth poured into it that they could not deny the accusation.

In our lives we will know a precious few of these friends who stick closer
than a brother. Just like a refiners fire boils raw metal until the impurities can be separated, brought to the surface and removed, trials refine and purify our relationships. We are human and we will fail. Our friends, are human and will fail us too. Brothers, sisters, spouses and friends are all made of the same frame of dust as we are. To expect more of them than we expect of ourselves is not unlike the slave who threw his fellows slave into prison over a debt of a few dollars when he had been forgiven a lifetime of debt to his master.

The point is that even the best of friends and the closest relationships
will suffer failures and faltering. These are times that can tear the life out of a relationship or make them stronger. If a bone is broken and not set, it will heal very badly causing a manner of problems. But, if the bone is carefully set, it will mend and the point of the break will actually be stronger when it is healed. True friendship will hold the
wound closed like a stitch across a gash giving it time to heal, just as the stitch of a quilt is strong, when stitched by someone who understands the beauty of quilting. Even grievous wounds need not be fatal to a relationship. It is still possible to forgive and rebuild. This is not always possible when a heart has been wounded too deeply or repeatedly. It is a reminder of our frailty. Very often, at least one member of the relationship will try to act as a stitch, holding things together. When they are pressed beyond their ability, the bleeding will not stop.

Here again, true friends will be there to help their friend pick up the pieces even in the wake of the pain. Jesus did not condemn the woman caught in adultery. He offered her another chance.

Recognizing our part in the problem, or simply our own frailty, esteeming
our friend higher than we esteem ourselves is an important first step in reconciling. The relationship may still be changed forever. In the case of the divorce, it is rarely a one-sided problem. It does happen, but not often. If both parties can at least acknowledge their parts in the problem, they don’t have to part as enemies. In the case of a friendship saved, the relationship will be stronger for the pain – just as the fire
is used to purify the metal. If the metal were already pure, there would be no need to subject it to the fire.

Are you already purified? Submit to the fire. Let Jesus use the trial for your benefit.

God’s Own Heart

God’s Own Heart

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Have you ever thought, “I have done so many things wrong that I know God cannot forgive me. I want to tell you now that you are never too far away that you cannot call to the Heavenly Father, and He will answer your prayer and pick you up.

King David is known as a man after God’s own heart. His Psalms, or songs, are some of the most well-known, most quoted lines in the world. David was the chosen King of Israel, chosen by God and anointed by His prophet. He knew amazing victories over Goliath and the enemies of God’s chosen people. He knew humbling defeat slobbering and raving like a madman in fear of his life in an enemy land.

The story of David and Bathsheba is one that is the stuff of movies, poems and a fountain of seeming opposites. David and Bathsheba committed the sin of adultery, tried to cover up their fall so far that David committed murder in having her husband left in battle to be slain by the enemy. Her husband, Uriah, was one of David’s most loyal and trusted men. David gave Uriah the sealed, written orders to the General that instructed the General to strand Uriah in the heat of the fight knowing that Uriah would never consider opening them.

After David takes Bathsheba as his wife, he is confronted by Nathan the
Prophet who informs David that while he has hidden his sin from man, that God knows. Nathan informs David that the child that Bathsheba carries will not live. David’s heart breaks as he realizes his sin before His Lord Who has given him so very much. Out of his grief comes this psalm pleading for
forgiveness, and to be made right before God again.

The word create in the hebrew is bara, which is the same word used in Genesis chapter one. God creates the heavens and the earth by the sheer power of His will. With a word – single thought, out of absolutely
nothing, the universe is formed because He willed it to happen. David’s request for God to create a clean heart in him is an acknowledgement of
several things. First, that David had sinned and his heart was the source
of that failure. Next, that his heart was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. Finally, that there was nothing clean in him to make the new heart that would be a pure replacement. David’s plea is for God to create a new, pure heart for His fallen creation by the power of God’s will out of nothing.

Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

David’s thoughts mirror Paul’s centuries later. And if we are brutally
honest with ourselves today, we have to agree that we are a total wreck left to ourselves. But the same mercy and grace that David and Paul both knew is still available to us from Jesus Christ. To David, He was the awaited Messiah. To Paul and those of us who know Jesus, He is risen Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ sinless life we have victory over the power of sin that David and Paul understood so well. In Jesus’ victory over the grave, we have eternal life in Him. When we understand this, we know the
forgiveness that says there is no longer any condemnation to those who will acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior.

David lived a year of his life, as a failure. He knew he had sinned. He knew that God knew he had sinned. When David became to the point his soul was in despair, he finally prayed a sincere plea to God.

God heard him, and forgave him.

I asked you today. Do you need forgiveness? If so, God is waiting with open arms.

Ezekiel 11:17-20 “Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD,” I shall gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries among which you have been scattered, and I shall give you the land of Israel. “‘

18 “When they come there, they will remove all its detestable things and
all its abominations from it.

19 “And I shall give them one heart, and shall put a new spirit within
them. And I shall take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh,

20 that they may walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances, and do them. Then they will be My people, and I shall be their God.

If God will answer this prayer for His chosen people Israel, how much more will He do the same for the bride of Christ?

Unforgiveness

“When you can truly forgive someone who has hurt you for no reason at all, God smiles.” Pastor Pat Aman

Have you ever been so surprisingly hurt by someone, that you had thoughts of getting even. This is not the way God would have it done.

(Romans 12: 17-18)
“Do not repay anyone evil for evil,”
“Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”

I have found out by personal experience that you can be hurt badly by someone out of the blue. They will just go off on you for no reason at all. And the sad thing is people who call themselves Christians are sometimes the first to judge their brother and sister in Christ. They will read or hear something and they quickly set their on judgmental opinion up without ever reaching out to find the truth out on what may have been said
or done to their fellow Christian. They just start gossiping without
seeking the truth.

I have also found out that people who are like that, are people who are hurting inside. They have been hurt so bad, that they do not know how to love anyone, just vent their hurt by hurting others.

It is sad when this happens. All we can do is pray for the person, that
God will heal their hurt and attitudes.

Let us discuss the reason for not getting even. First of all just knowing
that the Lord forbids our taking revenge should be sufficient to keep us from doing it. We want to obey our Lord, whether or not we understand all the reasons for His commands. In this matter, however, the Lord wants us both to obey and to know why.

God doesn’t want us to do evil. The fact that someone else does evil to
us doesn’t change that. He wants us to “do what is right,” even if others do what is wrong.

As God sees it, and as we need to see it, the problem when we ‘get even” is that we are doing exactly that. The other person has sunk to a low level, and we are getting down there with him. If our enemy were
destitute, would we want to lose our assets too and get even? If he were
sick, would we want to lose our health and get even? Of course not. Then if he has done evil, why should we lose our integrity by getting even?

God says in effect, “Don’t get even; come up higher.” He wants us to be
better people.

When we respond to God’s command and forsake revenge, we save both ourselves and others a lot of grief.

As Scripture says, “If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.” (Galatians 5:15)

Integrity

Integrity
Author: Pat Aman

Please read the entire scriptures of Psalm 78 below the devotional.

What is Integrity?

Webster’s dictionary defines integrity this way, “firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : incorruptibility, an unimpaired condition : soundness
the quality or state of being complete or undivided … the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.”he is known to be a man of integrity”…. the state of being whole and undivided….”upholding territorial integrity and national sovereignty” The condition of being unified, unimpaired, or sound in construction

We see in Psalm 78 speaks of God’s compassion. The compassion that He had for the Israelites as He walked them out of captivity in Egypt and through the desert to the promised land that He had set aside for them. The entire time they are complaining and forgetting about the miracles that He was doing to keep them alive. It is even this compassion that causes Him to turn away and allow them to once again go into captivity.

As I read this Psalm I my eyes focus on verse 72: “And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.”

‘Integrity of heart’… the heart is the source of integrity. We cannot buy it, we can not learn it, we can not create it. It is something that is within that only God can create.

It is said to have integrity to the extent that everything comes from a set of values. While those value-may change, it is their consistency with each other and with the person’s actions that determine the person’s integrity.

And we must remember, that we all are, ‘work in progress’.

David shepherded the Israelites “with integrity of heart”. Davids values never changed.

David did fall short in so many areas of his life, as we all do….

And we all fall short; and this is why we need for a Savior.

David has many shortcomings throughout his life, one thing stands firm. He had ‘integrity of heart’. His moral never changes. After the times that he falls, he sees the sins of his ways and comes back and to that steadfast in his heart.

Integrity is of the heart. We need to look deep within and pull out what God has created in each of us.

Integrity comes by spending time in the God’s Word, and time with Him, so that we will have a ‘firm adherence to a code’ as described by Webster. The only firm foundation is one created by God. All others are as shifting sand.

Psalm 78:1-72
“Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God. The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them. Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan. He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap. In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire. He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people? Therefore the Lord heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel; Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation: Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven, And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven. Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat to the full. He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind. He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea: And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire; They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths, The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel. For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works. Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble. When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God. And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer. Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues. For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant. But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath. For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again. How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert! Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy. How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan: And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink. He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them. He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust. He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost. He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts. He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them. He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence; And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham: But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased. He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents. Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies: But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow. For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images. When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel: So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men; And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy’s hand. He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance. The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage. Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation. Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine. And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach. Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved. And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever. He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.”
