Touch The Hem Of His Garment

The woman pushed through to just touch the hem of his garment.  She knew that she would be healed. 

I myself, knew that as I lay in bed nearly two years, that when at my lowest point, God awakened these scriptures just for me. 

I was worn out, burdened down and broken. I felt like, why me, Father God?

I know that many of you have also felt this way. You could not understand why you were going through so much pain and heartache!

I want to share what I received from God the day He allowed me to really understand what this women was going through.  He gave me a clearer view and showed me her unwavering faith. He showed me how she set her eyes on her healer, and did not let absolutely anything stand in her way.

I learned persistent Faith. 

This passage relates the account of a desperate woman  whose healing was the results of a great and persistent faith. Her illness made her ceremonially unclean and disqualified her from mixing with crowds of people, yet she was certain that “if only I may touch His clothes. I shall be made well”, 

(Mark 5:28), says, “For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well”. Jesus did not rebuke her, but delayed His mission to the home of Jairus, whose daughter was dying, in order to assure her healing.

Jesus later raised Jairus’s daughter from the dead, but here He took time to minister to one with positive, persistent faith.  That persistence is rewarded is not to suggest healing or any other work of God is earned by human effort. It rather illustrated the need to be bold in what we believe, to not be deterred by circumstance or discouraged by others. 

“All things are possible to him or her who believes. (Mark 9:23), and they all are by God’s grace (Ephesians 2: 8-9),  says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves. It is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast”.

See,  she did not let anyone stop her. Even though she was not supposed  to be in public because she was unclean. 

I went to the hospital to have a simple hernia repair in 2003, and I  contacted  surgical MRSA which means I should not be alive. MRSA is a highly contagious and deadly infectious disease. I was as she, unclean. 

MRSA  destroys the body.  

After over a year of fighting MRSA, I went back and had surgery to clean my insides out and remove the MRSA and what it had destroyed, I contacted surgical e-coli from this second surgery. I fought this infection for over a year. So, of over two years of fighting these infections I finally reached up, Father God reached down and healed me.  

Yes, I grabbed the hem of His garment and refused to let go.

Was it easy? NO! I felt depression, loneliness and desperation!

 I praise God that I finally allowed these scriptures hit me square in the face, and I realized then, that I needed to press through, touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, not let anything block my vision of a Jesus in the crowd. 

Maybe today you need to press through the crowd and touch the hem of the Master’s garment.

You have fought the disease of sickness even the disease of sin and it has beat you down. You are drowning in despair. You have no where to go but up. 

I want to tell you that Jesus is waiting for you to come to Him. He wants you to reach for the hem of His garment. 

Do not let the crowd stop you. Do not let the voices of the crowd cloud your vision. 

Set you hope on what is eternal and be healed. God has given us incredible promises. If you are running low on hope, go to the Bible to recharge! 

We must remember that – “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4: 17-18

Please know that our Hope causes us not to get discouraged, not to give up, because we have something to keep going for.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

Please now, stop, and let Jesus and let Jesus speak these words to you.

“And He said to her, “Daughter/Son, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.””Mark 5:34

“Laugh and Confuse The Devil” Author: Pat Aman

As Children of God, we need to laugh often. When we learn to laugh in our times of troubles, it defeats Satan.

(Proverbs 17:22) “A Merry Heart Does Good, Like Medicine, But A Broken Spirit Dries The Bones.”

First of all, think about it. The devil himself is sending out everythingin his power, demons and all, to try to defeat the children of God. And the sad thing about it is we are letting him. We need to learn to laugh in his face. See, when we are laughing, even in the time of trouble, it will confuse him. He will sit back, scratch his head, and will be thinking to himself, “Now I have sent out every demonic power I have to attack them, and they are laughing.” 

See, Satan is not all knowing. He cannot read our minds. He only knows what we speak. And when we speak negative things in our life, he knows he is winning the battle over us. A lot of times we are speaking negative things into existence in our own lives. We need to stop giving the devil ideas, he has enough on his own. We need to learn that sometimes it is just better to keep our mouths shut, that is unless we are going to laugh, give thanks, or praise God.

(Proverbs 18:21) “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

I can hear you now, “Pastor Pat, you just do not know!” 

Well I can tell you that maybe I do. I am 65 years old, and my life hasnot been a bed of roses. I could write a book on losses, hardships, disappointments, discouragement, sickness, and a few other things. But what good would it do to tell the devil everything he already knows? So I am just going to praise God, and thank Him for restoration. I am going to tell everyone about the joy, mercy, and grace of my Lord and Savior. As Christians we have given Satan too much lead way in our lives. We have given him too much credit. It is time we, as Christians, stop chasing Satan and demons and start chasing God, and He will take care of Satan and the demons. Again, stop giving Satan so much credit, and exert our power over him, In Jesus’ name.

(Matthew 16:18-19. And I also say to you, that you are Peter, on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. 19. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 

Remember, the rock is not Peter as an individual, since Jesus substituted a foundation rock. Jesus meant that He Himself is the Rock upon which the church is built, and the church is built out of those stones that have made their confession of faith in Him. That is us, His children, the Body of the Church, believers in Jesus Christ. In other words, when we as Christians stand up and take our authority over the Gates of Hell, which is the power of death, then hell and everything in it cannot advance intothe kingdom, nor claim victory over those who belong to God. Just as Peter was a representative of the church throughout the ages, Jesus is passing on to His church His authority or control to bind and to loose . And binding and loosing have to do with forbidding or permitting. In other words, Jesus is stating that the church will be empowered to continue in the privileged responsibility of leavening the earth with His kingdom power and provision. 

Just remember this, that as Children of God, you should have enough power to walk into a room where Satan and his demons are trying to enter or control, and they ask you where they need to go as they are running out of the room. 

See, they cannot stay in the Presence of God. And if God is your Lord and Savior, then the Presence of God is in you. So I will say again, stop giving the powers of hell so much credit. For they have none, but what you give to them.

Your Passion And Purpose In Life

 A passion for life comes from fulfilling your purpose in life. Because God is your Creator, seek Him to find your purpose and passion in life. Because most of us do not seek God nor His purpose for our lives, we become bored, tired, dishearten, depressed, self-destructive, double-minded, and aimless when going about our daily activities.

We can only have a life-long passion for life by seeking God’s purpose in our lives and making ourselves available for that purpose. 

2 Timothy 2:21″If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use.” 

If we are not fulfilling God’s purpose for our lives, a life-long passion for life is impossible. If we choose not to make ourselves available for God’s use, we end up wallowing in sin, dishonor, purposelessness, self-destruction, and eventually eternal death separated from God forever.

We must remember that as God looks at us the body of Christ, he look at us as one. Why, because we are one body, born of one spirit. When God sees us, he sees many members parts of the body, but he see one body. He sees the body of Christ. He sees the body of anointing. We must understand itis not about God seeing all your individual needs. In fact if you read your Bible and Study, you will see you have no individual destiny outside of cooperate destiny. If you do not understand where you play in the big roll, you will not understand your individual roll. Because individual destiny is inside of cooperate destiny. 

We all must work together as a church to win the world to Christ. As you work in the cooperate anointing, you will soon realize and see that God has been directing you to your purpose in life. You destiny, through the gifts that he has given you. 

Do not ever think you are not important to God. He made you and placed you here on this earth to do his work. You are very special to him.

Just seek God, and he will grow your gifts, purpose and destiny. He will show you the direction he wants you to go.

Who Has Built Your House?

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Psalm 127:1

There are at least three lessons in this text.

First, no project can succeed unless it is the Lord’s will. God is workingout his plan for his creation and it does not matter how hard we strive to go our own way, we will not succeed unless our way is God’s way.

Second, what God intends to build will get built. No force in heaven or on earth can stop God from doing what he has planned. His success is guaranteed.

Third, God will work with us to accomplish his will. He needs no human hands. The One who spoke worlds into existence can surely build a house on his own. But by his grace he has purposed to do some of his work through human laborers. We are not cast adrift into the world to live lives of meaningless mediocrity. We were created to follow hard after God, carrying out his will and working in his kingdom.

While we labor we do so with the assurances found in Psalm 127:1. As the people of God, we strive to walk according to his ways, avoiding irrelevant, unproductive tasks that do not conform to his will while pursuing wholeheartedly the work he has called us to do. And as we labor for him we know that our labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58). God will complete what he has begun and the fruit of our work will span eternity.

Study Notes: The New King James Bible

God is opening so many new doors this year. I stand amaze in His goodness, love, mercy and grace.

This is the reason I took some private time to pray and study. But, mostly to just sit in God’s presence and listen.

I did not let the noise around me, keep the fire burning wind of the Holy Spirit from engulfing me with a fresh anointing, a new Vision.

I thank God for pouring a new oil over me. I allowed Him to renew me, so I could accept and understand the anointing oil being poured into me.

All I can say to each of you would be, steal away into the arms of your Father God. He is waiting to hug you. To shield you. To share with you.

The poem below was shared with me on November 7th, 2010, by a dear friend and sister, Kaye Carr.
She is in Heaven now, and I do miss her so very much.

I think we should, as Kaye said to me, “Pat, I think this world would be a better place to live, if everyone would follow the advice of this poem.”

Slow Me Down Lord

Ease the pounding of my heart

Life Is Not A Crap Shoot

When seeking God’s will for your life have you ever gotten your Bible down and told God, now God, I am going to open my Bible to your scripture and the first scripture I read, I know will be what I am supposed to do. (Now, be honest, I do not want to have to pray for you. I know I am not the only one who has ever done that.)  But, when I  did let my Bible fall open to a page and started reading, it was not what I wanted to hear, so I tried it again. You know 2 out of 3 wins.

God has let me know real fast that He or His Word is not like shooting craps.

Sometimes I want to know more.  I want to be able to make the right decisions for my life.  I don’t want to go outside of the will of God and

find myself flailing about in the midst of consequences I actually bring upon myself.  I want more than anything to stay within the pathway He sets before me.  And while I want one thing, I have to accept the fact that what I want may not be the best choice for me or for others.

Ultimately, I want God’s best.  I take seriously the larger decisions in my life.  I think everything I do works together with God’s plan to build up His kingdom and grow me spiritually.  I have various folks in my life who influence my thinking; sometimes they just add to my confusion. Do I have an Amen to that last statement.

We sometimes allow things and people into our lives that God had not planned for us. When this happens, God does not change the landscape of our lives and put those things and people in His arrangement. He will try to straighten out the mess we have made when we let Him.  Key, when we let Him.

“For this world’s wisdom is foolishness with God, for it is written, He lays hold of the wise in their own craftiness.  And again, The Lord knows the thoughts and reasonings of the wise and recognizes how futile they are.”  1 Corinthians 3:19-20 

We try to reason everything out and the more we reason, the more we seek another’s counsel, the less we know and the more muddled our thoughts become.  That is when I retreat.  I actually stop talking to people about my quandary, my crossroad.  I sit quietly before the Lord and ask Him for His wisdom.  I rest until I have a clear answer.  That can be daunting.

Sometimes the answer seems totally out of sync with anything I’ve been advised.  I don’t know about you, but most times God leads me to act, not on logic, but on faith.  The leap may be frightening.  I tend to argue with God in these times, just like Moses saying he couldn’t speak before Pharaoh.  So God gives him Aaron to go along and help him.  

Sometimes I think all the things God used to make Pharaoh let Israel go, was to show Moses the power of God’s might.  I relate well to old Moses.  But that is because I take my eyes off God and put them on myself.  Moses was more concerned with his inadequacy than God’s adequacy.  Logic sees as far asone can see before the jump; faith sees God at the end of the jump.  

From that vantage point, we catapult with courage, knowing He provides a safe landing.

Study Notes: The New King James Bible

While I have been off FB, I have noticed where a lot of people were just looking at the picture and quote I post, and do not read the of devotions. 

We must read and study God’s infallible word. It builds us up in Faith and Wisdom. Just looking at a picture with a quote does not continually help us grow in God. It makes us feel good for a moment, then slowly fades away when we are facing attacks of satan. Maybe even facing a mountain. But, being able to speak God’s word constantly over our life and the mountains builds us up, and grows our faith. Then when we reach the top of the mountain, we realize God deserves all the praise and honor. 

Psalm 119: 1-17 

1.Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.

2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!

6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.

9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

For Such a Time as This  Author: Pat Aman/1998

It is often easy for us to read too much into a situation. It is equally easy to miss God’s hand right in front of your face working in your, or my, life.  Being at peace with God, not struggling or chaffing against the yoke He has made for you will help make you more aware of the still small voice of the Spirit speaking to you, or me. 

Esther 4:13-17 Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not imagine that you in the king’s palace can escape any more than all the Jews. 14″For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” 15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, 16 “Go, assemble all the Jews who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maidens also will fast in the same way. And thus I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish.” 17 So Mordecai went away and did just as Esther had commanded him. (NAS) 

Esther is Queen of the Empire.  She had been taken from the home of her Uncle Modecai as a young lady to the court of the King.  She had cried and lamented, and wondered why God had abandoned her.  Slowly, God must have shown her that she was not alone.  She found favor with the man in charge of preparing the ladies to meet the King. He orchestrated things for her, with God holding the strings to be sure. And then she finally met this heathen King, and found him to be interesting, if not charming. She was invited back, and ‘found favor with the King’. In other words, he fell in love with her, and she with him. It was probably the last thing that she expected. Then Haman’s wretched plan to destroy the nation of Israel was put into action, and Esther found herself paralyzed with confusion and fear. It was then that her Uncle once again came with a dose of reality to shake her from her inaction. We need friends like this, who are willing to get in our faces and rattle us when it needs to be done. Modecai saw the hand of God in the life of Esther when he uttered, “And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” God holds individuals and nations in His hands. He moves them carefully so that those who are watching can see His hand at work. 

Esther 5:1-3 Now it came about on the third day that Esther put on herroyal robes and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace in front of the king’s rooms, and the king was sitting on his royal throne in the throne room, opposite the entrance to the palace. 2 And it happened when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, she obtained favor in his sight; and the king extended to Esther the golden scepter which was in his hand. So Esther came near and touched the top of the scepter. 3 Then the king said to her, “What is troubling you, Queen Esther? And what is your request? Even to half of thekingdom it will be given to you.” (NAS) 

It is not unthinkable that Esther had not seen the King for some time. She may have even wondered if she had fallen out of favor with him. To enter the Throne Room unbidden was to literally invite death. Esther had asked for prayer and fasting to prepare for the moment when the doors to the Throne Room opened and she walked through the door. She knelt as soon as she was clear of the doorway and waited for the response from the King.When the King extended the scepter, he had spared her life.  His response was very tender. He may have felt badly that he had not shown her enough attention lately with all the duties of running the kingdom. He was willing to grant her request up to half of his kingdom. This would have literally made this woman his equal. To say that she had found favor with the king would be to say that the Atlantic Ocean is a lot of water. 

The rest of the story is a set of twisting ironies that end up with Haman hung on the gallows he had built for Mordecai. Mordecai was remembered by the King who was trying to be bored to sleep by having the King’s Chronicles read to him. Esther’s nationality had remained unknown to both the King and Haman, until the telling moment when Haman was undone in his own jealousy while expecting to be promoted in political power. But the hand of God is seen over and over again as the exiled nation of Israel is saved when there was no human recourse. I have seen in Biblical stories, my own life and even the news, how God allows all other resources to be exhausted, that then He quietly steps in to direct the course of a individual or a nation. In those times, only He can lay claim to the honor and glory of the moment. 

Are you struggling today? Caught in between a rock and a hard place? Stop, take a breath and look around.  Look for the hand of God leading you and orchestrating the events around you.  Who knows, but that you have been lead to right where you are, for such a time as this.

Study Notes: The New King James Bible

“I Will Make Music With My Soul”

So many churches seem to have the biggest concern over music. Churches have fallen apart over the music. 

I think we sometimes forget that satan was in charge of the music in Heaven. And he had taken what should be praises to God, and destroyed many churches.

First, I want to say, “until we as children of God learn to have an intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father, in worship, praise, prayer and Bible study, we will never be able to worship God fully, whatever the type of music we have in our church services.”

As children of Our Heavenly Father, we better learn to give honor and praise to Him now on earth. See, when we get to Heaven, we will be praising Him day and night,for out all eternity. 

(Psalm 108: 1- 5)1.My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my soul. 2. Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. 3. I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations;  I will sing of you among the peoples.  4. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. 5. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth.

Worship the Lord, means to ascribe worth to something or someone thought speech and conduct. Worship addresses God directly, expressing reverence for His nature, character attributes, and power, and grateful praise for all He is and does.

To Praise the Lord means to speak well of God with exuberance andenthusiasm to others and/or to Him because of what He has done. “Praise the Lord!” (Hebrew Hallelujah!) is a command to extol God’s virtues and exalt His because of His mighty acts. A praise gathering is a celebration of God’s mighty power and purpose.

Worship the Lord with all your heart and mind. Rehearse His attributesconsciously. Recount that how  who God is affects you and is changing you. Avoid worshiping mindlessly or by rote or becoming passive in worship. Give yourself your whole heart. Employ singing, both with the spirit and with the understanding, using speaking, bowing, kneeling, dancing, corporate applause and instrumental music to enhance expression of worship.

Praise God with a loud and enthusiastic voice. Clap your hands and shout joyfully to the Lord. Participate in processions of praise. Speak and sing praise to God. Involve such physical expressions as raising hands,dancing, applause, and kneeling.

Discipline yourself to praise God for every benefit He provides. Bedisciplined to corporate praise. Be careful to submit to leadership in praise services, not letting praise degenerate into fleshly enthusiasm.

The psalmists calls for constant verbal expression of heartfelt gratitude to God for all of His benefits and gifts to man.

Give thanks to God, first of all, for who He is. Give thanks to God for all that He has given you. Give thanks to God for His loving-kindness and mercy. Give thanks to God for His protection. Give thanks to God for His guidance. Give thanks to God for His mighty act. Give thanks to God than His purposes will prevail.

Then we must Proclaim God goodness. As one of their major themes, the psalmists call God’s people to declare openly His goodness, loving-kindness, and mercy to them and to the nations.

Proclaim God’s love, mercy, and forgiveness to all of Israel. Proclaim God’s truth and justice in all the nations. Proclaim His righteousness.

Proclaim His mighty acts. Proclaim His salvation, day after day.

In other words we daily need to Praise God for all that He has done and will continue to do for us. We must not just praise Him in the good times, but praise Him in the bad times. 

I have learned that Praising God no matter what my circumstances has made a good situation better and a bad situation seem to go away, or at least has made it easier to bear.

So, I ask you the question, what is stopping you from Praising God?
