God Forgive Me For Being Disappointed In You!

There are times in our lives that are easy to trust Father God when life is going good. We are singing, giving our testimony and just rolling along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But, what happens when Father God allows our faith to be squeeze a little, like a lemon?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What happens when we find ourselves in situations that we cannot understand?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s look at Matthew 11:2-3
John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, \u201cAre you the Messiah we\u2019ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, I asked you, was John telling Jesus, the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, \u201cI am disappointed in you? Are you who you say you are? If so, why am I in jail, fixing to die?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, we have all been disappointed with God, when we cannot understand why situations in our life are turned up side down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We start reminding Father God how we have stood and not lost faith. We start telling him of all the good things we have done. We start trying to explain life to the one who gave us life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am positive John the Baptist was where we are and even have been.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John was the forerunner of Jesus. John even Baptized Jesus. He had obeyed the call of Father God in his life. He preached and shouted from the mountain tops that Jesus was coming to be Israel\u2019s Messiah. He confronted the religious leader\u2019s and challenged sinful hearts, and called Israel to repentance, all to prepare the way for Jesus. He expected his faithfulness to his Father God to be recognized. John gave his all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But as we read John was now in jail. It was not good. John knew that he would even be beheaded<\/p>\n\n\n\n
John was disappointed in Jesus saying, \u201c do you realize what is happening to me?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But, Jesus handled John\u2019s disappointment and doubt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus did not send a message back to John saying, why are you not believing? Why are you fussing? Why are you doubting?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus instead lifted John up in his body, spirit and soul, and said, \u201cJohn, Father God knows you and values you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
See, Jesus understood where and what John was going through. And he also understood that Father God\u2019s timing was way different than John\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are times we want things to happen our way just like John did in his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But, Jesus redirected John\u2019s faith by encouraging him to take his eyes off circumstances and put them back where they belonged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus said, in John 11:4-6 \u201cGo back to John and tell him what you have heard and seen\u2014that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor. And tell him, \u2018God blesses those who do not turn away because of me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus is insuring John to keep his eyes on the evidence that Father God\u2019s is in control and being glorified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus was telling John to stand firm in the hope of Father God\u2019s continuing work through the Messiah that John, himself announced to the world was coming and did come, just as he had spoken. And to never doubt his Father God would continue to be faithful to the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, just as John we\u2019ve all questioned Father God in our disappointments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yes, we have all been angry with Father God and shouted it to the Heavens when we felt Father God let us down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You even might be there today in your situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let me tell you now that is okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Father God is big enough to handle your situation just like he did Johns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you come now in repentance with all your heart and soul, Father God won\u2019t let you down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead he will lift you up. Open your heart to him now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\u2019ll show you how valuable you are to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
See, even when we feel disappointed with Father God, he knew before time we may make wrong decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God already knew that we would fall short of His glory. He already knew that we needed a Savior and that is why He sent Jesus. Jesus was sent to settle our account (justification), paying the price for our sin and opening the way for a relationship with God. He saved us at our darkest hour (Romans 5:8) and knew that we wouldn\u2019t be able to earn salvation nor maintain it with working hard (Ephesians 2:8-9).
\u2026for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ~Romans 3:23
But, see Father God\u2019s Grace is Sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Saved by grace is the reason we have new life in Christ. God knew that we would need grace for salvation. Jesus says \u201cHis grace is enough.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only the Sovereign Father God knows his plans for you. And there are some things that will only make sense on the other side of eternity. That’s why the greatest gift we can give back to God is our trust, especially in the face of life’s goods, bad and ugly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And please remember that Father Gods will never disappoint you if you and given him your heart, mind, body, soul and spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And, you cannot disappoint God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because you must remember that only Satan try\u2019s to use the tactics of disappointments against you. Satan wants us to think we have disappointed Father God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But, that is a lie straight from the pits of hell, we must not believe, because it can make us move away from Father God. And then Satan has won the battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeremiah 28:11, , \u201c\u2019For I know the plans I have for you,\u2019 declares the Lord, \u201cplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The early verses of John 15 also remind Christians that God\u2019s plan does not end with death and that He continues to watch over His people even after they die.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, tonight, give all your failures and disappointments to Father God. He is waiting for you to return home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
